Passive Base Foundations

As with any new build, a Passive House project begins with the foundations and we have been fortunate to construct Passive Base Foundations for clients throughout Ireland. As with all our projects we pay a great deal of attention to the detail on these bases ensuring that they are installed to the highest standard, achieving the maximum results for the client.

What is a Passive Base Foundation?

A Passive Foundation is a system that wraps the foundation in high performance insulation. This ensures U values of between 0.10 – 0.15 W/m2K. Crucially, this system is designed to minimise heat loss at the junction of walls and floors (Thermal Bridging)

Using a Passive Base foundation also reduces the quantity of concrete required for the foundation.

There are a number of companies in Ireland providing this system, however no matter which one you choose KingEquip have the expertise required to install it.
